My babe and boys love to take an evening drive. This time, our usual lockport drive was interrupted by a bursting of northern lights. It was a beauty to behold. Oddly enough, we missed our turn to head North and we ended up on the West bound perimeter where we found a handy detour. As if on cue, the car was in park in no time and with no protest from the gorgeous lady by my side or the two kids in the back, I headed out, camera & monopod in hand.
The light show went on for about 1.5hours (we only shot for about 30minutes as the lights danced around) - we all took it in, I had my share of satisfaction from the shoot. The mosquitoes got their feeding in. The bites were no match for the glamour of witnessing the Northern Lights first hand and capturing some images.
A few cars went by as I run my 1.6second exposure @ ISO400 and f2.8 - The distraction of the lights from the white and red car lights added to the beauty of the final product.
